It is very interesting to me, that someone as edgy as Galliano, was a creative director for Dior for so many years - Givenchy seems like a more obvious choice, but still, he has not spent there nearly as much time, as he did with the first.

Galliano, born in 1960, is a graduate of Central Saint Martins, and other than the two previously mentioned French brands, he has been caring for his own label from 1988 to 2011, and is the present creative director of Maison Margiela at this time.

He was chosen British Fashion Designer of the Year for 1987, '94, '95 and '97, but has been involved in a lot of controversy due to speaking out against Jews while drunk in Paris in 2010. He made his comeback after that in 2013, designing for one of Oscar de La Renta's shows.
